Osprey Cam
In this unique situation the customer wanted a live video feed from the osprey nest approximately 300 feet offshore in the river. We designed a solar powered infrared camera system with wireless transmitter and receiver which sent live video to the house both day and night which was then viewed on the customers 60" flat screen and iphone. Installed in the off season the customer was able to watch the osprey raise their young without disturbing the nest. The solution included a 24"x18" solar panel and charge controller which was used to keep the 12 volt marine battery charged during the day. The camera which you can see in the top right corner of the nest structure was powered by the battery day and night and sent it's images to a receiver antenna mounted near the house which was then connected to a video modulator so the customer could tune in the "nest channel" on their tv.
